Karl Whitworth

Singer and Guitarist

Reforming the band, rehearsing, writing and recording with the guys has been a magical time. We’re sounding better than ever! Perhaps that’s no surprise as we’ve all been building on different aspects of our musical talent. After the band came to a resting point 25 years ago, I formed my own music tuition company. Taking students as complete beginners right through to their first concerts and beyond has proved a wonderful experience. As well as continuing to write music, I have become interested in the recording process and evolving music technology. Now the time is again right for G.I. Orange.

Keyboard Player

I truly believe we were one of the best bands of the 80s and even though our careers took on a different direction, I have never stopped playing in the studio with the guys. I run my own business, but I was delighted when the suggestion came up that G.I. Orange should reform, return to Japan, produce new tracks and maybe tour. I see it not only as a great chance to meet our fans once again but also as an opportunity to complete unfinished business…

Being part of G.I. Orange in the Eighties was an amazing adventure that was unique to the four of us. We shared a very special experience from the joy of huge success in Japan to the confusion and heartbreak that followed later on. Over the past 25 years, I have played with numerous artists but, of course, there has been nothing like G.I. Orange. It has been a richly creative time for me too – I have never stopped writing songs and I’m proud to have recently published my first novel. The reforming of G.I. Orange is the next exciting step ahead!

Gary Holt

Drummer

G.I. Orange was an amazing and exciting adventure for all of us and we will always be grateful for the good times and experience we gained in Japan. After that extraordinary time, I went on to explore different paths, but being a musician has remained a huge and important part of my life. I may be older and I hope wiser, but inside I am the same young drummer who enjoyed creating good pop music in the Eighties. I look forward to sharing the new music of G.I. Orange again. It’s good to be back.
